With the Speaker’s actions over the last week on the budget deal, it certainly makes one question whether we have 2 political parties. The Speaker apparently lied to the conservative members of his party in order to get them to pass the rule which led to the passage of the omnibus spending bill. Seems to me that the Speaker is on the opposing party’s team. Maybe the new crop of Republicans will have the stones to fire the Speaker. He certainly doesn’t lead.
Do elections resulting in Republicans winning no longer matter? If so, how do we change the government?
